FAQ-

Is the Harrier Lite better than the Ibis 4?

This depends on your application. The Dometic Harrier Lite is designed specifically for smaller vehicles as it is lighter and more compact than the Ibis 4 & Harrier Plus. If size and weight is of concern to you, then the Harrier Lite is definitely a suitable caravan air conditioner.

Can I install the Dometic Harrier Lite myself?

Though you can potentially install any caravan air conditioner yourself, we do recommend professional installation to avoid voiding your warranty and for your own safety. Any rooftop air conditioner is a heavy item and it can be easy to cause harm to yourself or damage to the unit.

Do I need to have an H-Frame installed?

This depends on your vehicle. To install a roof top caravan air conditioner it needs to be supported. Most vans will have an H-frame built in already. Some older caravans and pop top vans may not have this, in which case it will need to be added in order to support the weight of any air conditioner. Should your van require an H-frame you will need to factor in this addition to your overall weight. If you are simply replacing an air conditioning unit, there should already be existing supports in the van.

Is the Harrier Lite suitable for a camper trailer?

Yes. The Dometic Harrier Lite is an option for use in camper trailers, however keep in mind, that you need to be confident in lifting the weight. Also, you need to consider the efficiency of the unit as you will lose a lot of the cooling through the canvas.
