FAQ

General Questions

We do not do general storage.
We have a large holding yard with easy access which allows us to hold customers vans whilst awaiting insurance assessments, parts and completion of  jobs. This also allows us to provide the convenience and flexibility where a van needs to be dropped off early, or picked up later. However, this should be discussed with a team member.

Places you can contact for caravan storage:

Bionic Storage – Landsborough

Red Hot Caravan Storage – Landsborough

Storage Direct – Sippy Downs

Kennards Self Storage – Baringa

Mammoth Storage – Bells Creek (near the racecourse)

A1 Storage – close to the Eumundi Exit – Exit 224

Should you need to gain access to your van while it is on our premises, you are able to do so during our office hours. This is Monday to Friday 8am-4.30. We are closed for public holidays. Due to safety reasons, we are unable to do so out of office hours. We do require you to check-in at the office for your safety and so we can best direct you to your van.

We try to be flexible as we understand plans change, however we recommend a quick courtesy call to check in advance.

We do not offer mobile repairs. There are a number of mobile repairers on the Sunshine Coast. However, please keep in mind, being mobile they are limited to the repairs that they can do.

We are located off a quiet street with a wide gate for easy access. We have a large holding yard. Simply pull up, speak with our friendly staff and they can direct you. We have facilities to move your van so there is no need to stress over trying to reverse or park in tight spaces.

Yes you can! When you call your insurer, it is often a call centre, they will refer to a list and pick one at their discretion. You do not have to use this repairer, you can advise them that you want to use a different repairer to the one they indicate. We are the preferred repairer for RACQ, Suncorp, CIL, AAMI, ADIA and an authorised repairer for all other insurance companies, so there is no issue with advising the insurance company you would like to use us in the event they suggest an alternate repairer.

If you are travelling and you suffer damage to your van that does not affect the use of your van, you can request to bring it in to us upon your return to minimise the disruption of use to your van.

Yes you can.
If you have additional items you have been thinking of getting done, it is the perfect time to get it done. Our customers freuqently add on a service, weight check, small repairs and installations that are not related to the insurance claim.

Depending on the scope of repairs needed for the insurance claim and the additional repairs you would like done, it can often be easier to do at the same time. Please discuss with our team.

This varies between each job. This is due to the scope of repairs on each job, the insurance company, as well as the availability of parts. Please feel free to discuss your individual situation with our staff to see how we can best accommodate you.

When you may need our services....

Yes, we can provide gas certificates, road worthy’s and much more!
You need a gas certificate and road worthy to sell a caravan.
gas certificate is valid for 3 months.

Trying to sell your caravan?
You will need a roadworthy certificate to sell your van or to change the state of registration (eg: VIC > QLD).

We recommend servicing every 10,00km or every 12 months, whichever comes first. It is a good idea to use a logbook to keep track of your servicing and maintenance.

Knowing the weights of your caravan help you to make better informed decisions relating to your caravan and the safety of all road users.

The most common times people choose to do a caravan weight check:

  • They want to know they are legal
  • If it is a new caravan and or tow vehicle
  • Before heading off on a big lap
  • When they are wanting to make modifactions to th evan or install new caravan appliances or accessories.
  • When they are not happy with how the van is towing – sway issues, handling etc

Caravan Repair Centre is a Queensland Approved Transport Inspection Station. You can trust us to service your caravan and ensure the safety of you and your vehicle.
